Guidelines for Job Advertisements
Please review the following prior to placing your advertising.

Anti-discrimination Law www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/workplace/discrim/default.html prohibits advertisements that indicate an intention to discriminate on the grounds of:
  • sex
  • marital status
  • pregnancy
  • race
  • ethnic or ethno-religious background
  • disability
  • age
  • homosexuality
  • transgender status
  • need to care for or support a child or other 'immediate family member'.
  1. Any costs to the applicants e.g. required training for the position, or the requirement of an Australian Business Number (ABN) must be clearly outlined in advertisements.
    It also must be clear to applicants if a position involves unpaid work e.g. volunteer or work experience positions.
  2. Volunteer work: Careers and Employment follows the guidelines of Volunteering Australia and will only advertise volunteer positions for not for profit organisations.
  3. UNSW Careers and Employment Jobs Online is a service for advertising available work for undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates. Commission only roles will not be advertised.  UNSW Careers and Employment Jobs Online cannot be used for advertising or promotional material.
  4. UNSW Careers and Employment reserves the right not to accept any advertisement and to alter an advertisement. UNSW Careers and Employment is not responsible for errors, omissions or non-insertion.
  5. Agencies and third party recruiters are required to provide Careers and Employment with the name and address of the organisation for which they are recruiting. This information will not necessarily appear in the job advertisement.
